At the root of many cases of ADHD/ADD lies anxiety. Anxiety affects our central nervous system causing dysregulated body and emotional states, this in turn can have a big impact on memory and focus. Anxiety creates a “fight or flight” perception with our brains. Essentially, the body feels like it’s running from a lion. You cannot read a book if you are running from a lion! Even if you could, chances are you will not remember much of it. Children and adults who suffer with ADD/ADHD have their anxiety states raised even more when feeling as if the work the work they are doing is inadequate.
With neurofeedback, the ability to concentrate and focus improves tremendously! In addition to achieving the joy of goal reaching, subjects have increased levels of self-esteem creating an overall feeling of well-being not present before treatment. We have found a strong correlation between a decrease in anxiety and better sleep states as well. After neurofeedback most clients suffering with ADD/ADHD feel happier, more successful and well rested!
